This week I have the pleasure of blogging from the beautiful island of Hawai’i. This place is gorgeous and there’s tons to do - which is why I don’t want to be weighed down with loads of clothes. This trip, I decided to do something a little different and pack versatile items that I could use to create multiple looks.
Exhibit A: this scarf/bikini top/shirt.
Okay I’ll admit it. I forgot my bikini top in the hotel room and was forced to improvise with my scarf. But, hey, things work out the way they’re supposed to and now I have a new favorite way to repurpose my scarves.
Here’s the original outfit with the scarf being its true scarf-self:
And here is the scarf as a bikini/top:
While this one was a happy accident, I do try to pack versatile pieces for a lighter bag and easier outfit pairings. I’ll pack primarily simple, staple pieces and then add in a few patterns and statement pieces so I can switch up the looks a bit. This means less time putting outfits together and more time enjoying the island in style.
