What I Wore in Mexico: Staying Cool in White

There's something about a summer outfit with a pop of fresh, clean white. On my recent trip to Mexico, I fully embraced summer whites (and, as a result, a constant fear of hot sauce stains). Irrational fears aside, the light tones helped me stay cool in the heat, so I figured I'd share. View of Cabo San Lucas Mexico.

What I wore:

Taking the heat into consideration, I opted for bright whites and neutrals with the exception of a few accessories.

For the first look, I paired some white linen pants (similar here) with a loose, ribbed mauve tank and belted the pants to add shape. I finished off the look with a pair of tortoise slides and a vintage bag with a bandana tied around the handle.

The next outfit is consistent with the white-and-high-waisted theme. I immediately fell in love with these shorts (similar here) and they've quickly become one of my summer staples. I tucked a large maroon vintage tank into them and carried the same vintage bag/bandana combo since the pattern on the bandana went so well with the tank.

These pieces kept me cool and comfy - plus, I love the fresh, crisp look of white pants/shorts.

Here are some of my current favorite white pieces:

Zara - Paper Bag Pants - $39.90

Mango - Belt Line Short - $39.99

Genuine People - High Waist Silky Belted Short - $150.00

Summer heat brings with it the opportunity to embrace summer whites. Light, airy fabrics, and dreamy silhouettes make summer that much more magical. Stay tuned for more hot weather looks (it doesn't look like it's cooling down here in California any time soon).
